Caravan fire victim seeks replacement home
A man who was left homeless after his mobile home burned down has appealed to any caravan insurance customers looking to sell their vehicles.
Russell Rigby was lucky to escape alive after his caravan home caught fire at Chivenor Caravan Park last month, reports the North Devon Journal.
He owed his life to his pet dog Jake, he declared after the incident, who had woken him during the blaze.
However, with his home and all his possessions destroyed by the fire, he is now on the lookout for a replacement caravan.
Mr Rigby is currently sharing a friend's mobile home, but says he is struggling to find permanent accommodation that will accept pets.
And faced with the choice of either being left homeless or giving up his faithful dog, he said there was only ever one option.
"I just want a home. I'm not losing my dog - I've lost everything else. I love that dog," he declared.
"If anyone has a caravan for sale, or knows of somewhere suitable please get in touch," Mr Rigby added.
Earlier this week, a Wiltshire man was forced to escape from his camper van in Hemel Hempstead after the vehicle caught fire due to a faulty electric heater, the Hemel Gazette reports.
