Police investigate caravan park blaze

Police are keen to speak to three youths in connection with a fire which destroyed 14 caravans at a Pembrokeshire holiday park.

The incident, which is being treated as arson, occurred on the evening of January 4th at Kiln Park near Tenby.

No one was hurt in the blaze, partly because the site was closed to the public for out-of-season maintenance work at the time.

A spokesman for Kiln Park explained that its staff had avoided injury and also managed to call for the assistance of the emergency services quickly.

"The alarm was raised by security staff and the fire service was quickly in attendance. Police have now sealed off the area and are conducting a forensic examination," he said.

Dyfed Powys police have now asked for three male youths who were seen walking a dog in the area between 17:00 and 21:30 to come forward to help them with their enquiries.

They also want to speak to a group of young motorists who were in the railway station car park at Penally slightly later that evening.

A £1,000 reward has been put up in order to encourage witnesses to come forward with information which could result in a conviction.
