Caravan holidays 'the perfect option'
A number of holidaymakers are beginning to realise the attractions of the lifestyle enjoyed by caravan insurance customers across the UK, it has emerged.
The Caravan Club claims that an increasing number of people are beginning to see motorhome breaks as "the perfect holiday option" in light of the current economic climate.
With families being forced to tighten their belts as a result of the financial restrictions, many are embracing the idea of holidaying within the UK.
Caravanners can enjoy greater variety in their trips, with a number of top city, coastal or countryside locations available to them in Britain, said Nikki Nichol, head of public relations at the Caravan Club.
"You've got freedom, flexibility, you can set your own timetable and agenda and for the cost of a holiday for a family of four, you can buy a second hand caravan," she enthused.
Such is the affordability of a mobile home break that owners could make every weekend a holiday if they so wished, Ms Nichol added.
Her comments follow a report by the Caravan Club which revealed a 40 per cent increase in advanced bookings for 2009 compared to the year just gone.
Indeed, more than 50,000 people booked trips in just five days during December, the group revealed.
