Sussex caravan damaged by fire
Mobile home owners have been given a further warning of the importance of taking out caravan insurance on their vehicles.
One owner in Selsey, Sussex, has been left facing a claim on his policy after his vehicle suffered partial damage resulting from an arson attack.
According to the West Sussex Gazette, the blaze started in one of the bedrooms of the caravan on the evening of January 20th.
Sussex police have since confirmed that they are treating the incident as arson and are currently speaking to witnesses in a bid to identify those responsible for the attack.
There were no casualties of the fire, which was quickly extinguished as fire crews from West Sussex Fire and Rescue brought the flames under control using a thermal imaging camera and ventilation fan.
However, the incident will come as a reminder to caravan owners in the region of the need to check that their insurance policies cover fire damage to vehicles.
It follows a pledge by police in Norfolk to cut down on a recent spate of arson attacks.
Vandals in the area have set light to a number of vehicles in recent months, including one caravan, and officers have warned that they will deal "robustly" with offenders.
