Scotland councillors plan new caravan site
Caravan insurance customers may welcome a new multimillion pound site that is being proposed in Scotland.
Plans to build the 70-stand caravan and camping facility at Wilton Lodge Park, Hawick, are already afoot and officials seem impressed, the Hawick News reports.
A spokesman for the Scottish Borders Council insisted that proposal is still "at a very early stage" but claimed that it would provide "a positive impact" for the local community.
The site was recently subject to a visit from officials and representatives from the Camping and Caravanning Club and reportedly impressed those who attended.
Councillors are now conducting research into the costs and practicalities of any development and mobile home enthusiasts could see progress begin to pick up.
"We are taking this proposed development very seriously and nothing is definite yet, but there is a will to succeed," said councillor Jock Houston.
This comes after the Northants Evening Telegraph reported that families looking for a UK mobile home break this summer could soon be able to stay at a new holiday park in Northamptonshire.
Managers at Wicksteed Park, a tourist attraction which offers a number of top theme park rides, confirmed that they had secured permission to build a new site on the grounds suitable for 100 touring pitches.
