Caravan park owner 'spooked' by mystery photo
Caravan insurance holders with a taste for the supernatural could be drawn to a site in Derbyshire when booking their annual summer getaway this year.
According to the Ripley and Heanor News, Golden Valley caravan park in Ripley is currently shrouded in mystery after experiencing a number of strange goings-on.
A photograph taken by a visitor to the site on New Year's Day captured several strange orbs of light, with people in the area at a loss to explain the mystical objects.
Darren Fretwell, owner of the park, said: "The more you look at the picture, the more mysterious it becomes."
Having ruled out a number of possibilities, he remains unable to offer an explanation for the photograph, but has since learnt that the site is located close to an old burial ground.
Mr Fretwell revealed that the bizarre events had also spooked his dog, who now "only seems to bark when it gets to the trees where the orbs appeared".
"I have always been open-minded about the afterlife and I believe a lot of bizarre things can be explained. But I can't explain this," he commented.
The site may prove particularly popular on the back of the mysterious photograph, but caravanners who would prefer to stay clear can choose from a number of other parks, including nine new locations that were added to the Caravan Club this month.
