Essex caravan park prepares for bumper summer
A caravan park in Essex is set to expand its operations as it seeks to make the most of an expected boost in British tourism this summer.
With the credit crunch gripping many families' finances, more and more UK holidaymakers are set to remain closer to home this year as they seek to holiday on a budget.
According to the Clacton Gazette, one family-run site in the seaside resort of Clacton is looking to cash in on the boom by installing an additional 47 pitches.

The plans - which will see the Firs caravan park double in size - also include the creation of a nature haven and a luxury leisure facility at the site.
Iain Senchel, owner of the park, intends to set up wildlife habitats in and around the grounds of the site, with a new lake and a number of shrubs and trees also on the agenda.
This could boost its popularity with nature-lovers and caravanners from across the UK and Mr Senchel hopes to turn his site into the region's "premier park" ahead of the tourist rush this summer.
Officials across the British tourism industry are preparing for a bumper year in 2009, with the falling value of the pound against the euro also likely to increase the number of Brits staying in the UK.
