Caravan event set for success

This month is set to see caravan lovers flock to Birmingham's NEC Arena for the National Boat and Caravan Outdoor Show.

Caravan insurance holders may be among the 100,000 visitors expected to attend the event, which will open on Tuesday February 17th.

The programme of events includes new model launches, free family activities and outdoor ideas, as well as shopping opportunities spanning six of the arena's halls.

Gary Barbe, the show's event director, said that it would "broaden everyone's horizons", offering ideas for making the most of getting outside.

"Whether enjoying the UK or overseas, the event is perfectly timed at the beginning of the holiday season and also during half-term," he added.

Families planning to attend the event will benefit from free caravan towing courses and motorhome manoeuvring lessons given by the Caravan Club. Motorists wanting to take part in classes are reminded to bring their driving licences with them.

Other activities offered for free include canoe and kayaking sessions on an indoor pool, mini-golf and climbing.

The event will run for six days and those with caravans are invited to make use of the on-site camping facility. Those who do so will be able to visit on the second day for half price.

Meanwhile, question and answer sessions at the event will be filmed by the Caravan Channel.
