Plans for Tees Valley motorhome site outlined
Caravan insurance holders in the Tees Valley may be interested to read that plans have been made for the creation of a motorhome site in Darlington.
The Northern Echo reports that a planning application has been made for a 19-caravan pitch site in Burtree.
Such a development could help increase tourism within the region and the site would be built on a currently unused field.
The planning papers, submitted by applicant John Wilson, outline the creation of a park that would include a single storey building with a terracotta roof, in-keeping with the local agriculture and not impacting on the area's skyline.
An amenity block and onsite shop have also been proposed.
In total, the development would cover 90 sq metres and will undergo scrutiny by Darlington borough council before a decision is made in the coming months.
Meanwhile, plans to expand a caravan park near York have been suspended after the city of York council said that the development could damage local green belt land.
Applicant Andrew Wilson said there was definite demand for the site's 20 pitches to be increased, the York Press reports.
