Funnyman reminisces about caravan holidays

Comedian Alan Carr has expressed fond memories for the south Devon caravan park he used to stay at during family holidays.

The funnyman has written about his time at Beverley Park in his bestseller, Look Who It Is, commenting in particular on the games organised by the park's entertainers, the Herald Express reports.

Chris Shannon, who was an entertainer when Carr stayed at the park and who is still there now, said: "We used to use a system whereby if you stayed in an odd numbered caravan you were a 'rebel' and in a even numbered caravan you were a 'royal'. It was such an entertaining and easy way of dividing up teams for all our competitions."

Caravan insurance holders who have visited the site may remember that Carr mentioned Beverley Park during his show at the Princess Theatre last summer.

"We have had many comedians perform cabarets at Beverley Park in the early stages of their careers, and we were absolutely delighted to hear that Alan Carr actually came on his family holidays here," commented Claire Jeavons, spokesperson for Beverley Holidays.

She went on to invite Carr back to Torquay to reminisce about his childhood holidays at the park.

Another celebrity recently hitting the news for a caravan-related reason is ex-Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona, who is investing in a used motorhome in Wales, the News of the World reports.
