Caravan show a success
The recent National Boat, Caravan and Outdoor Show in Birmingham has been hailed as a great success.
Organisers reported more than 84,000 visitors to the event at the NEC Arena, with many attendants potentially being caravan insurance policyholders.
According to Gary Barbe, events director of the show, the industry sees the show as acting as a barometer for sales in the year ahead.
"Although there is no denying there are tough times ahead, one can look forward to a year of renewed business industry optimism," he stated.
Earlier this year, it was forecast that the show - which features outdoor leisure ideas, caravan model launches and free activities - would attract around 100,000 guests.
Speaking ahead of the show, Mr Barbe commented that the event would "broaden everyone's horizons".
"Whether enjoying the UK or overseas, the event is perfectly timed at the beginning of the holiday season and also during half-term," he stated.
Among the activities available at this year's event were canoe and kayaking sessions, caravan towing courses that could potentially help motorists avoid caravan insurance claims during journeys, climbing and mini golf.
Next year's event will take place between February 23rd and 28th at the same venue.
