Britons flock to buy caravans

Caravan insurance customers may be among the many Britons flocking to purchase a motorhome this year.

According to McDonnell Caravans in Gayton, which is near King's Lynn, business is surging as Britons look to find cheaper ways to holiday.

The Eastern Daily Press reports that the firm has seen much interest in its offerings recently, particularly from young families.

"Business is picking up lovely now the snow is gone. Our main selling season is from now onwards, so we have got off to a good start," commented David Smith, general manager.

He went on to say that motorhomes were becoming more popular among Britons who are fed up with the costs of holidaying abroad.

After making the initial purchase of a motorhome, the vehicle can stay at home at no cost and is always available to use for those looking to get away, he stated.

According to the Northern Echo, sales of caravans and motorhome accessories have leapt by ten per cent in the last year alone. Meanwhile, the Camping and Caravanning Club has seen bookings increase by over a fifth.

The publication also reports that the International Caravan and Motorhome Show last October made £20 million in sales over a five-day period, meaning that more Britons could need to invest in caravan insurance for their new purchases.
