Holiday park gets a makeover
Caravan insurance holders with a penchant for luxury may be pleased to read that a holiday park in the Isle of Wight is set for a revamp.
The Isle of Wight County Press reports that Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park will soon be getting a makeover, which will include the replacement of old chalets with new static caravans.
Some 33 of the caravans are to be erected, while the remaining chalets will be brought up-to-date with new décor and furniture.
Meanwhile, showering and toilet facilities are to be refurbished and another 70 pitches for motorhomers and campers are to be installed with electrical services.
Currently, the site offers 450 pitches for caravan insurance policyholders or campers.
"Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park has been providing holidays to Island visitors for many years and I am delighted to be preparing it for an exciting future with what we hope will be the first phase of a substantial investment programme," commented Carl Castledine, managing director of Away Resorts - which operates Whitecliff Bay.
"This is not only great news for our guests but also the broader Isle of Wight tourism industry," he added.
The Telegraph recently reported that some caravan showrooms are experiencing an increase in sales of up to 15 per cent.
