Caravan firm 'country's second-best to work for'
Caravan insurance policyholders who travel to motorhome sites owned by holiday firm Bourne Leisure may be pleased to read that the firm has been ranked the second-best in the country to work for.
The company, based in Hemel Hempstead, operates 36 caravan parks, 13 hotels and three Butlins resorts.
In addition to second place in the Sunday Times poll, the firm has also scooped an award for being the most improved big company, the Gazette reports.
Chief executive John Dunford told the publication that staff at the firm were pleased with the result, after entering the competition last year and taking 15th place.
"This year we set a target of getting into the top ten but we came second, which is fantastic," he said.
Mr Dunford added that workers at the company have "a real passion" for guests and believe that by focusing on the experience of customers, the consumers will return and potentially even tell their friends.
"The basic product we have is making people happy," he concluded.
Last month, Devon motorhome site Oakdown Touring and Holiday Caravan Park won the David Bellamy Conservation Award of Special Distinction for its commitment to the environmental cause, the Sidmouth Herald reported.
