Industry boss considers future of caravan sector
A top industry executive has given his thoughts about the future of the caravan sector and how to beat the current recession.
Richard White, marketing director at Britain's largest caravan and motorhome manufacturer, the Swift Group, has discussed the challenges facing the caravan and caravan insurance market during the global economic downturn.
Speaking in an interview with the Caravan Channel television show, Mr White explains why he believes that the industry does have a bright future ahead and outlines how those involved in the caravan and caravan insurance sector can tackle the recession.
Although he admits that his and other businesses have in the past made mistakes, Mr White suggests that the economic downturn could present a new opportunity for the sector to grow.
Recent research has claimed that caravanning in the UK will be more popular this summer than taking a trip to Spain.
While heading to Spain has been a top choice among Britons for many years, as the recession forces people to cut back on spending, they are increasingly looking to cheaper alternatives such as a caravanning holiday.
However, people new to caravanning are being reminded that it is important to take out caravan insurance to ensure they are not left short-changed in the event of an accident or criminal activity.
