Mobile home holiday firm opens new sites
Caravan insurance policyholders could be set to flock to Scotland following the announcement of two new campsites in the region.
Eurocamp, which usually provides camping and mobile home breaks in Europe, has added to its operations by opening the two new sites in Scotland at Cashel and Aberfoyle, the Herald reports.
The company is hoping that the addition of new sites will appeal to Britain's domestic holidaymakers, who are increasingly choosing to stay at home for their annual vacations or short breaks.
Chief executive of the firm Carl Michel said that there is now a market for people concerned about the cost of travel this year.
"We provide all the equipment you need for a camping trip and we are seeing it as an alternative to the weekend break away to Europe," he added.
According to the publication, a National Caravan Council spokeswoman said that locations in Scotland among the most desired by holidaymakers.
Meanwhile, the Lynn News has reported that a revival in caravan holiday is boosting the industry, with some suppliers seeing sales surge.
McDonnell Caravans of Gayton is among those doing well, recently opening a new franchise, the publication states.
