NI caravan park in magazine's top 100
A caravan park in Northern Ireland has been placed in the top 100 UK sites by an industry magazine.
Caravan insurance policyholders may be interested to read that the Six Mile Water Caravan Park at Antrim Lough Shore has come in at number 37 overall and number three in the Northern Ireland regional final, organised by Practical Caravan Magazine.
According to the Antrim Times, the park has seen its visitor numbers rise year-on-year, with last year seeing the owners take a record 1,538 customer bookings.
Visitor servicing officer with Antrim borough council Kevin Guinchard commented that there are more than 2,500 caravan and camping sites in the UK, so to make it into the top 100 is an achievement.
"What makes this award even more special is the fact that it is voted for by the holidaymakers and visitors who actually use the park. It is the result of the excellent service provided by the team at the Six Mile Water Caravan Park to our customers," he added.
He went on to say that bookings were encouraging and predicted another "very successful season".
Meanwhile, it recently emerged that the boom in caravanning is paying dividends for family firms within the market in Scotland.
