Search called off after man found asleep under caravan
A 20-year-old Manchester man who was the subject of a search and rescue mission in Wales has been found - asleep under a caravan.
An RAF helicopter and coastguards were drafted in during the search for the man in Anglesey, who was holidaying with friends.
His friends raised the alarm when the man went missing from his tent at a campsite in Penrhyn after he was earlier put to bed following a drinking stint.
The Manchester Evening News reports that despite utilising the services of the police, coastgaurds, the helicopter and inshore lifeboat, it was a dog that sniffed out the unhappy camper, who, according to a friend, had "had a bad day" and "just wants to forget about it".
Shortly before 08:00 BST, the man was discovered by the dog sound asleep under a caravan just 300 metres away from where he had been left by companions.
A spokesman from North Wales Police said that the man is fine and well. It is unknown whether the mobile home suffered in the incident, but travellers may be as well to invest in caravan insurance to guard against damage occurring in similar circumstances.
Earlier this year, an amorous cockerel called Romeo tried to get into a caravan parked in Somerset after getting lost while looking for a mate.
