Bumper year for caravan holidays

Caravan holidays bookings are increasing in earnest following positive figures from earlier this year.

According to the Caravan Club's Nikki Nichol, last year marked the start of the upward trend in caravanning, but 2009 is set to be a bumper year for the industry.

"Last year was a great year for caravanning in the UK, but this year our bookings are already up 40 per cent and occupancy for January was up 22 per cent," she told the Staffordshire Sentinel.

The mobile home expert went on to say that it is not only the low cost of caravanning that appeals to holidaymakers, it is also the beauty of the countryside and the significant improvements in caravans made over the years.

With these enhancements in mind, travellers might want to make sure they protect their investments with adequate caravan insurance.

"People can't afford to travel as much so they are falling back in love with the UK," she added, concluding that mobile home holidays can be perfect for a variety of vacations, from short city breaks to fortnights in the countryside.

In related news, nebusiness.co.uk recently reported that sales at Northumbrian Leisure, which runs various caravan sites across Northumberland, has seen sales rise by 40 per cent during the credit crunch.
