Boom for Scottish mobile home sites

Scottish caravan parks are bracing themselves for summer after being fully booked for spring alone.

The Deeside Piper reports that caravan parks in Deeside and Donside have been busy over Easter, with some even having to turn customers away.

George Stevenson, warden at the Invercauld site in Braemar, commented that mobile home holidays are increasing in popularity, with the site being "exceptionally busy" this year.

"During half-term in February, we were busy as well," he stated.

"Over Easter we've been turning them [customers] away. This week, we've got people here from Southampton, Devon and Manchester and in the summer we get a lot of Germans and Dutch, as well as tenters from the continent."

Meanwhile, Graham Hay, owner of Feughside Caravan Park at Strachan, told the publication he is expecting a busy year.

"It's about time people from this country holidayed in this country," he concluded.

In related news, MP Jeremy Browne recently visited Cadeside Caravan Park outside Wellington to mark British Tourism Week.
