Towcar firm looks forward to booming summer

The producer of a towcar is expecting a bumper summer of sales following estimates that caravan holidays could rise by 40 per cent this year.

Isuzu has commented that the coming months are likely to be busy for its Rodeo towcar as Britons head to caravan parks in earnest to beat the credit crunch.

According to the firm, its vehicle provides first rate fuel economy, which may be good news for caravan insurance policyholders looking for a long-term investment that will save them money in the future.

A previous winner of What Van? Magazine's Best In Class award and specialist 4x4 magazine's Working Winner in the annual Pick-up Of The Year Awards, the model has a 2.5-litre engine that can achieve 34.9 mpg.

The vehicle also has a generous payload of at least 1,000 kg and a braked 3,000 kg towing limit, while still being able to produce 136 ps.

Earlier this year, the Skoda Superb 2.0-litre TDI model scooped the Towcar of the Year award, beating 37 other vehicles.
