Brits increasingly enquire about caravanning

The mobile home industry could be set for a boost as more Brits opt for caravanning holidays.

According to figures from 118118, the directory enquiries service, analysis of more than 30 million calls made to the service in the UK during the first quarter of the year has highlighted a rise in interest of camping and caravanning holidays of 92 per cent, TravelMole.com reports.

In addition, calls for supplies relating to caravanning and camping breaks were found to be up 103 per cent over the three-month period.

Calls relating to caravan transport and towing shot up by ten per cent, while enquiries about motorhome dealers rose a staggering 138 per cent.

These increases could translate to greater numbers of people investing in caravan insurance to cover such breaks.

UK holiday parks also saw an increase in enquiries by almost 50 per cent, while calls about cruise holidays dropped by 57 per cent.

According to the most recent figures from the British Holiday & Home Parks Association, caravan holidays have remained popular in recent years, with Britons having taken 4.7 million trips with towed caravans in 2007.
