New caravan site to help with pub's upkeep

Caravan owners now have greater choice of destination for their mobile home break as a new site has opened in Worcester.

The caravan park has been built near Pershore behind the Defford Arms pub to support the watering hole's future, caravan insurance policyholders may be pleased to read.

According to the Berrows Journal, landlord Neil Overton hopes that the new site will help keep business afloat in turbulent times.

Planning permission was granted by the local council and the site was opened earlier this month by mayor of Pershore Ken Rowe, who described the development as a "magnificent idea".

Mr Overton told the publication: "After the floods of 2007 there was a niche in the market for safe grounds for caravans and people actually contacted us first about the idea."

In other caravan news, the Daily Mail is currently offering readers a caravan park break for just £2. A three-day break will be free for the first night and £1 per night thereafter at more than 50 participating parks across the UK.

Breaks are available until July 2nd and include a number of sites in picturesque Devon and on the Isle of Wight.
