Bumper summer ahead for caravan industry
Caravan parks could be set for a bumper summer as bookings have reportedly surged.
According to the National Caravan Council (NCC), the industry is seeing positive results at present, with bookings up and sales of touring caravans also on the rise.
The organisation has said that rental bookings have been healthy since the beginning of spring and have recently increased in some parks by up to 25 per cent.
Over Easter, the industry saw occupancy levels reach almost 100 per cent.
"Holidaymakers are searching for really good value this year, and they are reassured by the fact that with a caravan in the UK, they can control expenditure and avoid the costly Eurozone," commented NCC director general, John Lally.
Now all that is needed is a hot summer, he added.
The Met Office is forecasting warm summer months, which may be just the incentive British caravan insurance policyholders need to take a break in the UK this year.
Scotland's Sunday Mail recently reported that the nation's tourist industry is set for a £400 million boost as more people opt to staycation, marking a rise in revenue of ten per cent.
