Caravan insurance policyholders considering a new purchase might want to turn their attention to the award-winning Escape model from Swift.

Launched in February, the vehicle provides a practical choice for newcomers to the mobile home sector, recently winning the Caravan Club Motor Caravan Design and Drive Award.

The model entered the competition for the first time and beat 33 competitors to win the accolade.

Comments from those judging included that the motorhome sets a benchmark for caravanning and has tremendous appeal through its inner and outer design.

Swift Group commercial director Nick Page commented: "This is the highest accolade we could have expected for the new Escape Range. All the objectives we set ourselves have been recognised by the judges in the comments they have made in choosing the Escape as the winner."

He went on to say that demand for the model at dealerships is starting to take off and the overall package is shining through the economic gloom.

Various caravan and motorhome models were also recognised recently at an awards ceremony in Rutland, held by Which Caravan. Among the winners was the Burstner Nexxo Family 694, which was named Motorhome of the Year.
