Brits outline favourite natural beauty spots

Caravan insurance policyholders may have helped the Camping and Caravanning Club come to its decision on the top British place to take a break.

The organisation recently conducted its national audit, which took place during National Camping and Caravanning Week from May 23rd to 29th.

Under the scheme, consumers were invited to phone a hotline or access the website to register the places they have had the most enjoyable camping breaks.

Last year saw the number of Britons enjoying a night in natural surroundings reach almost 96,000, but this year the club predicts the figure will rise.

Director general Robert Louden commented that there are many reasons for Britons to increasingly holiday at home this season.

"Even the weather seems to be rallying to the cause of UK tourism, with the Met Office forecasting a barbecue summer of above-average temperatures," he commented, adding: "This is great news for businesses, suppliers and the UK countryside."

Recently, the National Caravan Council revealed that rental bookings at parks across the UK have been healthy since the beginning of spring, increasing by 25 per cent in the north of England over the Easter holiday period.
