The need for a strong caravan insurance policy has been highlighted by a recent fire that gutted a number of the mobile homes.
A blaze that occurred at the Perthshire Caravan Company premises saw more than 30 caravans reduced to ashes, along with a number of motorhomes, the Perthshire Advertiser reports.
According to former Perth Provost Jean McCormack, who runs the business along with family members, some of the staff were reduced to tears by the event but were ready to get back to work the following morning.
"Their support has been essential and much appreciated as we draw up plans to ensure the business continues to operate in tandem with operations at Arbroath and Loch Earn," she stated.
Despite the fire, the firm is continuing business as usual, cleaning out an adjacent building from which to run operations.
Shortly after the blaze occurred, the firm highlighted its resilience by selling a motorhome.
It could be on track to fully recover from the episode as the industry is reporting strong results at present, with some manufacturers seeing a 15 per cent rise in orders and sales and mobile home hire bookings rising by up to 50 per cent.
