A multi-million pound boost could be made to Birmingham's economy later this month when thousands of Rotary Club members congregate in the city for the 100th Rotary International Convention.
According to the Birmingham Mail, around £20 million will be ploughed into the region between June 21st and 24th, with caravan sites likely to benefit.
Caravan insurance policyholders could be among the 20,000 people expected to descend on the city to attend the event at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre.
"The estimated £19.5million economic impact is not just visitor spend, it's right down the supply chain," commented Marketing Birmingham commercial director Ian Turner.
"We have been working with 73 hotels to place business directly into them but this is also going to benefit bed and breakfasts and caravan parks," he added.
Among the activities planned for the event is a medieval banquet at Warwick Castle and a performance by Katherine Jenkins and the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
Speakers set to attend the event include Archbishop Desmond Tutu, as well as actress and United Nations goodwill ambassador Mia Farrow, who will deliver a speech entitled With Knowledge Comes Responsibility.
