A caravan that has become synonymous with camping in the US is set to revolutionise the market in the UK, it has been claimed.

The Daily Telegraph has reported that the iconic silver Airstream caravan is making its debut in the UK this summer and looks set to attract a new market of caravanners thanks to its elegance.

In a move that could result in many more people looking for caravan insurance, the Airstream is preparing to launch its stylish caravan into the UK market and could usher in a new age of camping chic in the UK.

While the newspaper highlights the high cost of the Airstream compared to the majority of caravans on the market, the publication also points out that many caravan insurance customers will be keen to take advantage of the variety of benefits it offers.

According to the Telegraph, the caravan offers "a separate double bedroom at one end and generous built-in shower room, a living area bigger than some bedsits, this is about as stylish as camping will ever get".

A growing number of people are expected to head off on caravanning holidays in the UK this year.

Experts have predicted a surge in the number of caravan insurance customers holidaying in their vehicles because of the impact of the credit crunch, plus the Met Office's promise of a hot British summer.
