Caravan retailer Discover Leisure has been saved from administration after creditors agreed to support its plans for restructuring.
In a move that could help the company to continue to provide its caravan services long into the future, restructuring expert KPMG has now been drafted in to help the firm deliver on its promises.
Discover Leisure has entered into a company voluntary arrangement, which will allow it some breathing space to get its restructuring programme in place and ensure it can continue operating despite the tough economic conditions.
The recession has hit many businesses hard over recent months and the concerns surrounding the future of Discover Leisure highlights the importance of maintaining caravan insurance in the event that a holiday is jeopardised by a provider going bankrupt.
Despite the gloom in the global financial situation, there is optimism in the UK's holiday industry as research has shown more Britons are expected to stay in the UK this year.
With predictions from the Met Office of a hot summer and people shunning expensive flights, the UK's caravan industry could be in for a bumper year and the National Caravan Council recently reported there has already been a surge in caravan and camp site bookings.
