The Concorde Carver 742L caravan has been described as having more features than a Ferrari and being better value for money.

Motoring expert James Martin writes in his Daily Mail blog that the Carver is the best caravan on the market as it offers owners a high resale value, which is unusable for this type of vehicle, those with caravan insurance may be interested to read.

The reliability and quality of build of the Carver were also praised. However, what seemed to win Mr Martin over was the sheer number of gadgets the caravan comes with.

"There are more gadgets here than a Ferrari," he writes, "There's underfloor heating, air-con and leather seats, plus I get satellite TV, DVD and PlayStation."

Caravan fans are advised that the 22 ft-long vehicle has a three-litre engine, which makes overtaking on motorways "no sweat".

"Driving it isn't as boring as you'd think," Mr Martin concludes.

Earlier this month, the Caravan Club advised holidaymakers that touring in a mobile home is a green way to see Europe and revealed that those who take his type of break are more likely to lead environmentally-friendly lifestyles.
