Australian actor Russell Crowe is staying in a caravan while shooting Robin Hood in the UK, it has been revealed.

According to Hello! Magazine, the Hollywood hunk is camping out with the rest of the film crew using the caravans to stay close to location.

The magazine's report quashes rumours that Crowe has been commuting to the set every day from a relative's mansion by helicopter.

"Russell is a tough Kiwi. He's no diva and he's used to roughing it in the wild. He's staying in a caravan behind the beach just like everybody else," a source revealed.

His caravan is located near to a beach in Wales, which is the location of the second part of the film which has also been shot in Sherwood Forest.

According to the Caravan Club, there has been a surge in Brits holidaying in motorhomes with bookings for the 2009 season up by 40 per cent.
