Caravan holidays have moved on leaps and bounds since the 1970s, according to the head of public relations for the Caravan Club.
Speaking recently, Nikki Nichol said that caravans and caravan holidays provide increased choice and a range of different caravan or motorhome options to choose from, which may provide a surprise to travellers who have not encountered caravanning for a number of years.
She also said that current caravan or motorhomes offer a higher level of luxury than previous incarnations did.
"There [are] things you need to consider," she continues.
"Whether it's do you want a caravan or a motor caravan, there's very different types of holidays, how many births do you need, what layout, do you want an end wash room, a side wash room, a sixth bed?"
As such, the Caravan Club representative states that there is "a lot to be pleased about" within the caravanning world - a fact that those who already have motorhome insurance may already be well aware of.
Ms Nichol's comments follow research from Travelodge which show that many Brits will not be travelling overseas this year. It found that around a third (32 per cent) will stay in the UK.
