US manufacturer Airstream is offering Europeans the chance to enjoy retro design on a super-sized level.

The new Airstream 684 was recently reviewed in the Guardian, prompting journalist to highlight the caravan's cutting-edge design features and extended size.

Clad in aluminium and measuring over eight metres long, the 684 offers an internal height of around two metres in the tallest areas.

The caravan has a "retro-futuristic vibe" and displays bold colours, those with caravan insurance who are considering a new tourer may be interested to read.

During the test, journalist Tim Moore also highlighted how testing the van brought his family closer together - both literally and figuratively.

"[Stick] a family in a caravan and you bring it together in the most literal sense," he wrote.

Nevertheless, he did highlight that the lengthy caravan can be tricky to negotiate around the UK's smaller streets and roundabouts.

Those who are considering purchasing may want to take note that prices start at £29,950 for the Bambie model and rise to £49,715 for the 684.

Airstream also states that the caravans are designed to comply with European safety standards and are distributed via approved outlets.
