Britons who remember caravanning in the 1970s are being urged to see for themselves how much more stylish the pastime has become.
Speaking to the Caravan Club's website, head of public relations at the firm Nikki Nichol states that caravanning is now much more advanced and does not have the same connotations as it once did.
"If you haven't caravanned since the 70s, you will be pleasantly surprised to see the improvements and advancements that have been made as regards to functionality and style," she said.
Ms Nichol went on to say that those planning to take up the pastime would need to consider a number of factors when purchasing a mobile home.
These include thinking about how many berths are required and whereabouts the washroom is located.
She added that carrying out prior research can be helpful for consumers looking to take up caravanning.
Britons considering embarking on a mobile journey will find that they are not alone, as many consumers are now joining caravan insurance policyholders in discovering the benefits of mobile home holidays in the UK to beat the credit crunch.
Earlier findings by the Caravan Club have shown that holiday bookings at the beginning of 2009 were up 40 per cent on last year's figures.
