Caravan insurance policyholders may be helping to boost tourism in Wigtownshire as they travel to the county to watch the Open Golf Championship.
The Galloway Gazette reports that local sites were anticipating a busy week for business as golf fans flock to the region.
John Sharples, from the Creebridge site, told the publication: "We are fully booked and it's all because of the Open."
He added that the start to the season had been slow but have picked up recently.
"It's nice to have some good news for a change," Mr Sharples concluded.
Meanwhile, Mid Galloway councillor Sandra McDowall stated that the increase in visitors had been predicted.
"This is just what we said would happen, with more people holidaying at home due to the downturn," she said.
Ms McDowall went on to say that she hoped with a warm welcome, visitors might return the area in the future.
As well as the Golf Open providing a good reason for holidaying at home, a rise in the number of people taking caravan breaks was forecast at the beginning of the year, as Britons look to offset the effects of the recession.
The weak pound and recent warm weather have also been suggested as factors contributing to boosted numbers of Brits staying at home this year.
