A Yorkshire caravan firm has launched a number of new models in what it has called a "milestone" achievement.

Victory Leisure Homes in Hull has developed its first production models, unveiling two caravans - the Ventura and the Vermont - at an official ceremony recently, the Hull Daily Mail reports.

The firm has been trading for three months but is already making a caravan a day and has a good number of orders.

Because of strong demand, managing director Peter Nevitt said the company could double production in the near future.

He described the launch of the models as a "milestone", adding that the day was "exciting" and that he is "cautiously optimistic" about the future.

The firm also intends to up staffing levels from 32 to 40 shortly and is developing six models in total - four for the home market and two to be exported.

Owned by family-run business JR Rix & Sons, the firm was set with help from Hull city council.

Mr Nevitt stated that the launch is "the product of months of hard work and has only come together because of the support from JR Rix, the city council and our suppliers".

Head of economic development at East Riding council Paul Bell recently said that 250 jobs in the caravan sector have been created in the region over the past three months.
