A farmer in Yorkshire is looking to diversify his business by adding caravans to his site
to house chickens.
Danny Myers, who runs Brownside Farm in Burnley, told the Clitheroe Advertiser and Times that he was planning to build holiday homes on the site but was forbidden to do so by the local council.
Instead, he has decided to add caravans to the farm, although the council has said the farmer cannot have humans living in the mobile homes. Chickens are apparently fine.
To take his business forward, Mr Myers will need around 30 caravans, the publication reports.
He commented: "I was told I can't have people in them but I can have chickens."
The farmer went on to say that he hoped the mobile homes will keep his animals safe.
"When we first got the farm six years ago I had a few chickens, but badgers and foxes kept killing them so that is why I need the caravans - to protect them," he said.
Mr Myers may want to invest in caravan insurance for the mobile homes to guard against any damage accidentally caused by the birdbrains.
Earlier this month he told ThisIsLancashire.co.uk that the feathery fowl will "adapt straight away to the caravans" as they "will roost anywhere".
