Caravans of the gipsy variety are becoming increasingly fashionable with all spectrums of society, it has been claimed.
According to the Daily Telegraph the Duchess of Bedfordshire's estate has just had one of these caravans delivered; the mobile home will be used as a static outdoor room in her gardens.
The newspaper advises that a growing number of Brits are getting "carried away in a colourful gipsy caravan" or finding their "own piece of rural solitude" in one of the mobile homes, which they may need caravan insurance for.
Raie McDonnell, who runs a caravan firm with her husband Colin in the Buckinghamshire village of Great Missenden, told the publication: "Gipsy caravans are wonderful places to play, a little space away from it all where you can find a sense of freedom.
"We also liked the idea that, because they are on wheels, you don't need planning permission to have a caravan in your garden unless you want to have a dedicated power line."
Meanwhile, caravan owners have once again been reminded of safety issues on mobile home sites after the fire service confirmed a blaze at Thorney Bay Caravan Park was started by a bonfire, reports the Echo.
Incident commander Doug Sylvester told the newspaper that while none of the caravans were affected the fire had spread to an area used to store gas cyclinders.
