Retrospective plans for a caravan park in the Plymouth area have been lodged with the local authority.
The move was made after a dispute arose over a large plot of land in Ridge Road, Plympton which owners have placed two large caravans on, reports the Herald.
Officials say the parking of the static homes, which owners may need caravan insurance for, is in contravention of the Plymouth City Council's planning regulations,REMOVE COMMA outlines on a website page entitled Use of Land for a Two-Pitch Gypsy Site, Consisting of Two Mobile Homes and Two Touring Caravans and Parking.
The council has previously sought to remove the caravans, but without success.
A council spokesman told the Herald: "This is likely to take the form of a planning enforcement notice - or notices - against which there will be a right of appeal.
"We do not accept that sites such as these should be occupied without planning permission and we will take appropriate action to uphold nationally applicable planning rules."
Earlier this month the achievements of the caravan, RV and camping industry were celebrated.
More than 200 delegates attended the recent Caravan and Camping Industry Association Awards of Excellence gala dinner at Cypress Lakes Resort in Cessnock.
