Caravan insurance policyholders thinking of cancelling their break in Plymouth because of the miserable weather might want to think again.
While bookings at the Smithaleigh Camping and Caravan Park have remained strong despite the gloomy outlook, the site's caretaker has said that the dismal grey skies are forcing some people indoors.
"It's a shame for the kids; they can't even go out and play," commented Ann Murthagh to the Herald.
However, a spokesman from the Met Office told the publication that the coming days may not be all doom and gloom.
Tomorrow is set to see the sun make an appearance through the grey clouds.
"Friday should be a repeat of that and then, dare I say it, the weekend looks to be sunny, perhaps with the odd shower on Sunday," he added.
Despite the prediction, the Met Office came in for criticism recently after forecasting that this summer was likely to offer up some good barbecue weather, before revising its outlook for rain.
Since the school holidays started across the country, above average rainfall has been recorded in some places but temperatures have been generally higher than average.
