Research conducted by sister portal travelsupermarket.com found that almost a fifth of Britons plan to holiday at home to escape the weak pound abroad.

Another fifth of people said they have been motivated to take a break at home because there are so many good deals on offer.

Of those questioned, 92 per cent said they were satisfied with their UK holidays.
