A Preston-based motorhome firm has expanded its business at the time of year when caravan holidays are typically most popular.
Motorhomes UK has purchased two new courtesy vehicles for £60,000 in order to increase the amount of work it can do for major caravan insurance companies, reports the Business Desk.
Andrew Degnen, managing director of Motorhomes UK, told the news website that the firm has seen a significant rise in the volume of work it is receiving on the back of accidents - news that may prompt motorhome owners to invest in decent insurance policies.
He added: "An essential part of our service is to offer the insurer's customers a replacement vehicle whilst their motorhome is off the road. Therefore we need to ensure we have enough courtesy vehicles to meet this growing demand."
The executive also said that the new motorhomes would be used to give customers a greater range of vehicles to hire during the summer months.
Meanwhile, a family heading on holiday may be thanking their lucky stars that they had caravan insurance this week after their mobile home was stolen en route to Dover at a service station.
The caravan is thought to be worth around £5,000 and was laden with the family's possessions, making the theft devastating, according to Surrey Police.
