Welsh Assembly member Rhodri Morgan has illustrated the versatility of a caravan park after revealing he conducts his official business from one.
Each year the politician takes a break in his mobile home but rather than delegate his work to members of his team or his party, Morgan chooses to carry on working from the comfort of his caravan.
He told the BBC: "Because I holiday in my caravan in west Wales, I don't delegate authority to anyone else as I'm available to make any emergency decision as and when required."
The caravan fan has been holidaying in his mobile home at the coast with his family for four decades.
Morgan is not the only politician known to favour a break in a caravan. Former foreign secretary Margaret Beckett, perhaps fed up with being posted all around the world in her old position, is a known fan of holidaying in a mobile home in the UK.
A spokesperson for the Foreign Office confirmed in the summer of 2006 that, like Morgan, Beckett would be contactable during her caravan break.
