A mobile home firm owner in Sussex is hoping to revolutionise how Britons use their caravans.
Founder of Boutique Caravans Dick Shone set up his firm when thinking of downsizing from his property.
The art publisher decided to look into moving into a park home for his retirement but found what was on offer to be lacking, the Daily Mail reports.
He commented: "There are people of my generation, approaching 50, whose main asset is their house who are thinking about downsizing to park homes for retirement."
Finding that nothing was suitable to meet his needs, Mr Shone went on to produce the Indy home, which now retails from £75,000 and resembles a smart city apartment with its full-sized beds and power showers.
The entrepreneur has since gone on to create a number of other mobile homes, which may appeal to the price-conscious caravan insurance policyholder.
He added that he is now looking for a site that he can turn onto an Indy home park, "ideally on the south coast".
The Indys can be built with up to three bedrooms for twin models, also offering an office, sitting room, kitchen and wet room.
