Caravan fans are being offered the chance to win a holiday at a charity auction next month.
The Sidmouth Herald reports that on Saturday September 19th Peter Coletti, owner of Devon Ducks Motorhome and Caravan Hire, is putting a three-night break up for auction to raise money for the Starlight Foundation.
A state-of-the-art motorhome is being offered to the highest bidder, giving holidaymakers the chance to enjoy the comfort of a modern mobile home.
Peter, who lives on site at Kingsdown Business Park, told the newspaper: "It is a really good cause. We have got to do it for the kids as no one else will."
The caravan in question is a three berth TAB, described by the businessman as a "tardis" that would cost £500 to hire for three nights and can sleep up to six people.
He added: "They really are great prizes. We get around 300 enquiries a week for the caravan."
The auction has been organised by a group of east Devon police to help fund the Starlight Foundation, which supports young people with serious or life-threatening illnesses.
The advantages of taking a caravan break on home soil while the pound exchanges unfavourably with the euro were highlighted by Ben Bentley in the Shropshire Star this month.
Family man Mr Bentley advised other mums and dads that taking a caravan break in a nearby site is a much easier option when travelling with young children.
