Caravan insurance policyholders staying at Claylands caravan site in Cabus, Wyre, recently may have been among those holidaymakers who experienced a close encounter of the third kind.

About 15 people enjoying a break in their caravans at the site on August 7th and 8th spotted something strange in the sky, the Garstang Courier reports.

Builder Dennis Fisher from Wigan had been staying at the site with friends before leaving shortly before midnight on the Friday when he witnessed the UFO sighting.

"It was like a pyramid, but flat on top, like a ball of flame. It must have been 50 to 75 yards across. I don't know what it was," he commented.

The builder told others at the site about his experience and endured some teasing before his companions were forced to eat their words when they saw the unidentified objects for themselves.

"Dennis told us about it and we had a laugh, then we saw it too when we were leaving the club," commented caravan owner Tony Mulhare from Cheshire.

Back in February, footage of a cylindrical object hovering above a caravan park in Brean, Somerset, caused excitement among UFO fans, the Daily Mail reports.
