Caravan insurance policyholders among those who spotted UFO's over a site in Garstang recently may find that the extra-terrestrials were in fact Chinese lanterns.
The Garstang Courier recently reported that a number of people staying at Claylands caravan park in Cabus spotted a number of fiery orange lights hovering over the park.
One of the caravan owners, Darren Shepherd, told the publication: "I have heard about this type of thing over the Bowland moors late at night. I thought it was a myth but when I saw it, it was weird."
He captured some footage of the sighting on his camera.
Builder Dennis Fisher, who was staying at the site, described the sighting as being like a pyramid, but flat at the top, like a ball of flame.
But a family in the area have come forward to say that on the evening the UFOs were sighted, they were having a birthday celebration in their garden, during which they released around ten Chinese lanterns into the sky.
One of the family members said: "These were shaped like small hot air balloons and floated off over the fells. I wonder if they were they the reported UFOs?"
