Caravan insurance customers may be interested to hear news 17 families have been celebrating after their site for mobile homes was granted a £200,000 face-lift, it has been reported.

According to news site 24dash.com, the Cemetery Road park in Silverdale has been given a major upgrade and expansion, co-funded by by Aspire Housing, which owns the land and the Homes and Communities Agency.

As well as creating two extra pitches with full disabled amenities, the funding has also enabled the upgrade of all existing facilities including new kitchens and bathrooms, and enhanced heating and lighting, reports the local news source.

Launching the new-look site, Aspire Housing hosted a celebratory barbecue last Thursday (August 27th) to mark the site's official opening.

More than 30 residents are said to have attended the event, where they also mingled with workmen, local councillors and Aspire staff.

Recent figures released by Haven Holidays highlighted an increase in sales of static caravans of more than one-third.

Numbers of the vehicles sold rose by around 38 per cent over the summer as Brits opted to take more breaks within the UK.
