A new mobile home design from Renault Dacia could be of interest to caravan insurance policyholders on the hunt for an affordable new vehicle.
According to reviewers at Gizmag technology magazine, the Yav III can house three to four people and is expected to go on sale for around EUR15,000 (£13,200) early next year.
The innovative design includes an attachment on the roof of the vehicle, which can be lifted in just a few seconds, says the magazine.
This fold-out box creates an extra room, accessible through a hatch in the top of the vehicle.
When the car is in everyday use rather than on holiday, the box can simply be unclipped, allowing it to return to a normal five-seater size, which can fit into garages of a standard height.
This modular construction also ensures the YAV III has a number of other uses, says Gizmag.
Seats can be folded down to create beds while a storage space underneath the seats could house a stove or water system.
Those keen to see more new motorhome designs could pay a visit to the International Caravan and Motorhome show next month.
The latest 2010 models will be on display at the NEC in Birmingham from October 13th to 18th.
